J&K receives 1.99 lakh houses under PMAY-G
The Centre has allocated an additional 1.99 lakh houses to Jammu and Kashmir under the 'Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna-Gramin' (PMAY-G) scheme. This substantial allocation aims to fulfill the housing needs of the Union Territory and will help saturate the 'AwaasPlus' permanent waiting list by the end of the fiscal year 2023-24. The Rural Development Department is set to sanction the targeted houses by June 30, marking the highest allocation for any Union Territory under this flagship scheme. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Rural Development Giriraj Singh for their support in fulfilling the aspirations of numerous families.
