The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is working on building world-class infrastructure for six centers of excellence focused on multiple sports such as wrestling, weightlifting, boxing, judo, kabaddi, tennis, shooting, football, and hockey. The DDA is fast-tracking work on these centers, with three of them expected to become operational by the end of this year.
One of the centers, located in Sector-8 Dwarka, is being developed for wrestling, boxing, judo, and karate. Another center, focused on hockey and football, is being built in Sector-23 Dwarka. Additionally, a center for tennis and shooting is being created in Sector-19 Dwarka. All of these projects are expected to be completed by the end of this year, along with a public golf course in Sector-24 Dwarka.
The DDA is also working on a center of excellence for aquatics in Sector-33 Rohini, which is expected to be completed by the middle of next year. Work is also underway at the center for excellence in athletics in Sector A-7 Narela and a sports complex in Sector-34 Rohini.
