Construction begins on ₹2,000-cr mini-township in Kerala
In the first phase, the focus will be on the housing project, with the construction of two of the five housing towers to accommodate 500 families. The approach road and retaining wall will also be completed in this phase. Later phases will include the construction of a convention center with a capacity of 2,000 people, a training center with residential facilities, guest houses and lodging, and single bedroom flats for the elderly with common dining and recreational areas.
Other features of the mini township include fish farming ponds, a health club, a sports hub, smaller playgrounds, stray animal shelters, and recreational areas. The construction will be carried out in accordance with the existing topography and natural surroundings, and include rainwater harvesting and solar panel systems. The project is an initiative to provide affordable, sustainable housing for the citizens of Thiruvananthapuram city, and to enhance the city's facilities and infrastructure.
