BDA
The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is preparing a blueprint to develop a new residential project on the outskirts of the city and the authority will invest ₹4,500 crore in building basic infrastructure. The layout for the project covers about 3,546 acres and will comprise around 30,000 sites of various dimensions. The project is being monitored by a committee formed by the Supreme Court for its timely completion. Before this, BDA approved the project cost in a board meeting and the authority will mobilize the revenue through its internal resources over the next couple of years. Finances for the basic infrastructure will be contributing towards the construction of roads, drains, and electricity lines, and that the authority has not included the cost of acquiring land in its estimation as it hopes to compensate those losing land by giving developed sites. Every landowner who parts with an acre of land will be given eight sites of 30x40 square feet each. In return, the authority will be able to develop around 16 sites in the same land and this will help both, the authority as well as the landowners.
