APM Terminals to develop Pipavav Port at ₹3320-cr in Gujarat
APM Terminals Pipavav and Welspun Group have also signed an MoU to explore opportunities for the development of Green Hydrogen facilities on land provided by the port. This collaboration will target both export and domestic usage through various models.
Girish Aggarwal, Managing Director of APM Terminals Pipavav, informed, "APM Terminals Pipavav is committed to the community, environment, and the region. By signing groundbreaking MoUs, particularly in the capital investment and Green Hydrogen space at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, we bring together all the parties required to make this a success and reiterate our commitment to the state of Gujarat." Green hydrogen, produced from water and renewable energy, can replace fossil fuels such as natural gas in industrial processes, serve as a transport fuel, function as a sustainable industrial raw material, and act as energy storage to replace batteries.
