Adani Ports has secured a new order by the West Bengal Cabinet to set up a deep seaport at Tajpur with an investment of ₹25,000 crore. Apart from Adani Ports, JSW Infrastructure had also put forward its bid, but Adani Ports came out to be the highest bidder.

There would be an investment of ₹15,000 crore for the port and ₹10,000 crore for infrastructure development. The state will be the facilitator. Apart from direct employment for 25,000 people, the greenfield port would create indirect opportunities for many more people.
