SCR awards ₹699-cr railway station upgrade contract to Girdharilal Construction - NBM Media Pvt. Ltd.

South Central Railway (SCR)

The South Central Railway (SCR) has awarded a contract for the redevelopment of the Secunderabad railway station in Telangana, with an investment of ₹699 crores. It has been awarded to M/s Girdharilal Construction on an engineering procurement and construction model to improve customer satisfaction and experience. The station is set to be completed within 36 months, by October 2025.

The redevelopment project will include superior infrastructure and world-class amenities, giving the station an artistic look. As the only non-suburban Grade 1 category station in the zone with an annual footfall of over 20 million passengers, the SCR aims to enhance the passenger experience at Secunderabad railway station.
