MoHUA speeds up ₹10,599-cr J&K MetroLite project - NBM Media

The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MoHUA) has fast-tracked the MetroLite project for Jammu and Srinagar cities involving an estimated investment of ₹10,599 crore. All mandatory formalities for the project have been completed before submitting it to the Union Cabinet for final approval. The project has been approved by the PIB.

The MetroLite project for Jammu is approved only up to Bari Brahmana. MoHUA has agreed to extend it up to the upcoming All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaypur in the second phase on the ground that extending it beyond Bari Brahmana in the first phase will further delay the project as the Detailed Project Report (DPR) will have to be prepared afresh.
