KSM Bashir & Sons wins ₹265.71-cr metro contract

KSM Bashir Mohammad & Sons has been awarded a contract worth ₹265.71 crores to construct the Modipuram Depot and Workshop. The project is located on a 34.94-hectare land parcel at the northern end of the first semi-high-speed line in Delhi NCR and has been designed to accommodate 20 sets of 9-coach Alstom RRTS trains and 36 sets of 3-coach Alstom MRTS trains. The depot and workshop will serve the local Meerut Metro services operating on a 20 km route between Partapur and Modipuram.

It is worth noting that KSM completed the Polytechnic Depot for the Kanpur Metro in a record time in 2021 and is currently constructing the Gandhi Nagar Depot for the Indore Metro. The Duhai Depot (Package 5A), being built in the Ghaziabad District by KEC-VNC JV and a small stabling yard in Jangpura, Delhi, will primarily support the long-distance RRTS train operations.
