IRSDC surveyed the possibilities of extending the Red Line to Ghaziabad railway station and assigned Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to prepare a feasibility report and a DPR. GDA had identified two routes for connecting Shaheed Sthal with the railway station whereby one of the routes was through Mahamaya Stadium and Vijay Nagar, while the other was via Thakurdwara flyover and Ramlila ground. According to the tentative plan, DMRC is reportedly working on the route passing through Thakurdwara flyover, Ghanta Ghar and Ramlila ground.
