Gandhinagar railway station gets five-star hotel on running tracks - NBM Media Pvt. Ltd.

Gujarat’s Gandhinagar Railway Station is being revamped by the Indian Railway Stations Redevelopment Corporation (IRSDC). IRSDC is the nodal agency and the main Project Development Agency for the redevelopment of railway stations and is working towards transforming them into world-class 24-hour travel hubs.

A world-class railway station with 300+ five-star category rooms in the airspace over the station area is being planned. A Joint Venture SPV called Gandhinagar Railway and Urban Development (GARUD) company has been formed with equity contribution of the Government of Gujarat and IRSDC in the ratio of 74:26 respectively. The hotel building on live running tracks will be operated by The Leela Group. An elevated bridge of 937 m length has been constructed to reach the hotel at 22 m from ground level.
