DMRC submits DPR for ₹5,329-cr link to Jewar airport

The official sources said that the proposed metro link to airport, which starts from Knowledge Park-2 to Jewar airport, involves an investment of ₹5,329 crore. The new metro line will be 35 km long with six stations running parallel to the Yamuna Expressway and out of the total length, 4.1 km near the airport will be an underground section and the remaining part will be elevated. Similarly, Noida Airport station will be an underground station, and the remaining five stations will be elevated and the metro rail line will be built in 1.5 years. Also, YEIDA plans to build another metro rail line link between the upcoming Noida airport and the existing IGI airport in Delhi.
It may be recalled that in September 2021, YEIDA signed a memorandum of understanding with DMRC to prepare a feasibility report to provide direct connectivity between Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport and the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar with a metro corridor. This metro corridor has been planned to be implemented in a phased manner in two phases. Along with metro connectivity to IGI Airport, Noida International Airport at Jewar will also have connectivity to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with a spur route.
