BMRCL has floated a tender to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) for a new corridor connecting Sarjapur to Hebbal through Agara, Koramangala and Dairy Circle. It is a 37-km Metro line project with an estimated cost of ₹15,000 crore.
The DPR needs to be prepared within eight months and the last date to submit bids is May 16. It will provide details like alignment, underground and elevated sections, number of stations and locations, depot, rolling stock requirement, projected ridership, and estimated cost, among others. The route, which cuts through the city’s core areas, is projected to be completed by 2027-2028. While the Hebbal-Koramangala stretch will be underground, the remaining will be elevated.
Meanwhile, RITES is preparing a DPR for two priority Phase 3 corridors — the 34km Hebbal-JP Nagar and 13-km Hosahalli-Kadabagere lines — at an estimated cost of ₹11,250 crore, which will soon be submitted to the Centre for approval.
