Alstom wins €54-mn MRTS Phase-IV contract
Adding to its project portfolio in the country’s metro rail sector, Alstom has recently secured contracts worth €54 million to design, manufacture, supply, install, test, and commission train-control and signalling solutions of Delhi MRTS Phase-IV expansion. The contract covers the metro line starting from Mukundpur to Maujpur (Line 7 ext.) and Aerocity to Tughlakabad Corridor (Line 10) train.
Alstom’s scalable communications-Based train control solutions (CBTC), which work in conjunction with its Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) system, will be installed on these lines. This method is estimated to reduce energy consumption by up to 30% and as a result, CBTC can significantly increase the metro lines’ capacity, effectiveness, dependability, and safety while lowering operating cost for the operators.
