14 rail projects to boost coal evacuation
Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi announced progress on rail projects aimed at enhancing coal evacuation. Out of the 14 projects initiated for this purpose, five have already been commissioned, while the rest are in various stages of construction. Additionally, the promotion of coastal shipping and inland waterways is being emphasized for efficient coal evacuation.
Responding to a query, Minister Joshi stated, "Fourteen rail projects have been undertaken to improve coal evacuation, with five already operational and others progressing in construction stages."
He further elaborated, "Moreover, the Ministry of Railways has devised additional rail projects as part of Green Energy Corridor Projects, High-density Network Projects, and Rail Sagar Projects."
In light of increasing demands, the coal ministry has introduced a coal logistics policy and an integrated coal evacuation plan to address transportation challenges effectively.
