first green hydrogen plant at Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh
GAIL (India) has inaugurated its first green hydrogen plant at Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant step in its expansion into new and alternative energy sources. The 10-MW proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyser, imported from Canada, will produce approximately 4.3 tonnes of green hydrogen per day with a purity of 99.999 percent by volume.

Initially, the hydrogen produced will be used as fuel along with natural gas for various processes and equipment at the existing plant. In the future, the hydrogen is planned to be dispensed to retail customers in nearby areas, transported through high-pressure cascades.
