BigBloc Construction to invest ₹4.5-cr in green energy
BigBloc Construction Limited, a leading Indian manufacturer of green and non-toxic building materials, is investing ₹4.5 crore to install 450 kW solar rooftop facilities at each of its Umargam and Kapadvanj manufacturing plants. The company's solar project will allow it to replace approximately one-third of its power needs with renewable energy, helping it to achieve its vision of becoming a carbon-neutral business in the medium to long term.
BigBloc Construction produces Aerated Autoclave Concrete (AAC) blocks, bricks, and panels, which are sustainable, lightweight, soundproof, fire-resistant, and eco-friendly compared to traditional bricks. The company is the only one in its segment to generate carbon credits from its operations. With a capacity of 5.75 lakh cbm per annum, it is also one of the largest and only listed companies in the AAC block space. The company is also setting up two Greenfield projects, one in Maharashtra and the other in Gujarat, which will increase its total capacity to 13.75 lakh cbm per annum, making it one of the largest players in the country.
