1. Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link
Integrating "bridge, artificial island, tunnel and underwater interchange", the 24.03km Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is a world-class cross-sea cluster project. It spans over one of the most thriving waterways. The link is an 8-lane highway in both directions with a design speed of 100 km/h.Project Features
- Overcoming challenges such as aviation height restrictions, wind-wave interactions, and complex geological conditions.
- A three-span full floating system suspension bridge with a main span of 1666 meters and a height of 92 meters.
- The East Artificial Island of this project is the world's first underwater interchange for highways.
- he first one in the world to apply steel shell concrete tubes on a large scale for the construction of an eight-lane (in both directions) immersed tube tunnel.
2.The Pearl River Estuary Tunnel of Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway
The 13.69km Pearl River Estuary Tunnel of Shen-zhen-Jiangmen Railway is located in the Pearl River estuary between Guangzhou and Dongguan, the key project of the whole Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway.Project Features
- Face challenges like long distance TBM tunnelling, great depth, high water pressure, complex geological conditions, and hazardous environment at construction sites.
- With the largest buried depth of 115m underwater and the highest water pressure of 1.06MPa, it is the world's deepest undersea tunnel.
- Tunnelling in mix ground has a high demand for shield tunnelling technology.
- The implementation of the fully prefabricated assembly process has significantly reduced the risk of staff safety, accelerated the construction schedule, achieved green construction and effectively improved the construction of the tunnel’s internal structure.
3. Shenzhen Huangmugang Integrated Transportation Hub Project
Huangmugang hub project is located in the center of Futian District in Shenzhen, in the center of Shenzhen city. It is a comprehensive and open underground transportation space built for improving the city’s function in this area. The project is based on the design concept of "metro-city integration" to build a service-oriented comprehensive transportation hub with high quality development and is designed to realize the integration of metro-city, transportation, and space with international standardProject Features
- More than 600 pipelines need to be relocated with great difficulties.
- The structure column of Line 24 metro station adopts large inclination V-shaped steel column construction, which is difficult to install and position. The V-column space won the ITA Tunnelling Awards 2022 for Innovative Underground Space Use.
- The existing station of this project is the largest volume renovation project in China, which is extremely difficult to organize.
4.The TBM Tunnel Project of the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Railway
The TBM Tunnel Project of the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Railway is located in the core area of Shenzhen city. It is a large-diameter shield tunnel under construction in the plan of Shenzhen urban mass transit. The project faces extremely complex geology, highly sensitive ground and underground environments and stringent environmental protection requirements. It is one of the most challenging shield tunnel projects in terms of comprehensive risk and construction difficulty among similar projects domestically and internationally.Project Features
- It is one of the most challenging TBM tunnel projects both at home and abroad, which encounters complex geological conditions.
- Focus on TBM tunnelling parameters management and tool maintenance and replacement.
- It is difficult to control the 28 risk sources, such as densely crossing expressways, metro stations and sections, high-speed railways and old communities.
5.Shenzhen Qianhai International Transport Hub
Qianhai International Hub Project from Shenzhen Metro Group is a comprehensive transportation hub integrating office, hotel, apartment, commerce and port facilities. This project will build a six-storey basement, including parking, commerce, hub hall, transfer channel and equipment room, which will be one of the largest transportation hub projects in Asia.Project Features
- Combined with the three-dimensional public transportation and high-end urban complex, the project achieves multiple and intensive uses of land.
- The underground space in this project is a deep foundation pit near the sea, in which the transfer hall and underground space for property management is a 6-storey basement with a total length of 830m.
- BIM+CIM technology is applied to the whole process of design, construction and operation management.
- Introducing the Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University (Beijing Qingshang Culture & Art Co., Ltd), the renowned cultural and artistic consultancy, to conduct cultural and artistic planning, spatial planning, and subsequent implementation consultancy for projects, enhancing their cultural essence, commercial value, urban vitality, and sustainability.
6.(TBM)Hong Kong Trunk Road T2 and Cha Kwo Ling Tunnel(TBM)
The Trunk Road T2 and Cha Kwo Ling Tunnel, one of the largest infrastructure projects in Hong Kong, is a 3.4-kilometre two-lane trunk road. Upon completion, the intermediate section of Route 6 will connect to the Tseung Kwan O - Lam Tin Tunnel and the Central Kowloon Route through West Kowloon and Tseung Kwan.Project Features
- 2 x 14m diameter slurry TBMs used in the project can cope with the complicated ground condition within the tunnel lining.
- Automated devices “Robotic Arms” and the real-time monitoring system “MOBYDIC” (instrumented disc cutters) will be adapted in the construction of the tunnel to improve the construction site safety and enhance productivity.
- The first application of accessible cutter heads in Hong Kong allows workers to change worn-out cutters at atmospheric pressure, which minimizes the safety and health risks of decompression.
- The Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) approach will be applied to the construction of the internal structures. Installation of the prefabricated segments of the service gallery, OHVD and cross passage can improve the tunnel logistics, safety and environment on site.
- A 3.6m diameter slurry TBM using the pipe jacking method is applied for the construction of cross passage. And the precision pipe brake and thrust frame system can ensure effective pipe jacking and waterproofing.
- The Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) equipment will be installed in line with the Multi Trade Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MIMEP) method.
