UP’s CM launches tunnel construction work at Ramlila Maidan in Agra

Uttar Pradesh CM, Yogi Adityanath, has launched the tunnel boring machine (TBM) "Yamuna" at the Ramlila Maidan in Agra, for the construction work of the Agra Metro Rail Project. The CM highlighted the significance of Agra as a historical city and expressed his confidence in the Uttar Pradesh Metro officials to execute the project ahead of schedule, by early 2024.

The Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, Shri Sushil Kumar, also assured the public of delivering a world-class metro to the city ahead of time. The second TBM, named "Ganga," will begin tunneling in two weeks. The Chief Minister visited the crossover site and inspected the safety park before pressing the button to inaugurate the TBM. The TBM, weighing 450 tonnes and 85 meters in length, will tunnel an average of 10-12 meters per day and make its first breakthrough at the Agra Fort Metro Station before reaching the Taj Mahal Metro Station.
