The Agra Metro Rail Project has achieved a significant milestone with the maiden breakthrough of the Agra Metro TBM "Yamuna" at Agra Fort Metro Station. This marks a proud moment for the project as it makes steady progress towards its completion.
The civil work for all underground stations has already been completed quickly, while the TBMs are building the tunnels. The TBM machine "Yamuna" was launched by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, in February.
According to MD UPMRC Shri Sushil Kumar, the first of three tunnel sections has been completed, which is a significant milestone. Therefore, instead of the official timetable of August 2024, the authorities aim to commence metro operations six months earlier, in March 2024. The train terminal and the three elevated stations are nearly finished, and three trains are currently undergoing testing and service at the train depot on the high-speed test track.
