MoRTH floats tender for twin towers atop Zuari Bridge
The Union transport ministry has initiated a tender for the construction of twin towers, featuring a revolving observatory, atop the new eight-lane Zuari Bridge in Goa. The towers are envisioned as a captivating tourist attraction, with the concessioner generating revenue through visitor fees to cover the construction costs. The design of the towers and observatory will be finalized once the contractor is appointed, aiming to create a unique landmark surpassing even the Eiffel Tower's allure.
The bridge pylons have already been constructed in a manner that supports the installation of the towers. Additionally, plans include creating parking space beneath the bridge on the northern banks of Agassaim, where the offices of bridge construction contractor Dilip Buildcon currently reside. Visitors will access the base of the towers via a walkway from the parking area and ascend to the observatory through high-speed lifts. The towers will also house a gallery showcasing Goa's history and heritage, along with a restaurant or café.
Each tower is anticipated to accommodate around 500 tourists at a time, standing approximately 110 meters high from the water level. This project aims to enhance Goa's tourism offerings and provide visitors with a unique and memorable experience.
