MMRDA plans ₹284.55-cr Bridge in Mumbai

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has planned to build a four-lane bridge between Nariman Point and Colaba at a cost of ₹284.55 crore. The 1.6-km long project will be built on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) model and is destined to be completed in two years from the date of appointment of the contractor.

The new bridge will act as a last-mile connector for the upcoming coastal road because currently, the commuters take Captain Prakash Pethe Marg and endure traffic congestion at Madam Cama Road, Mantralaya, Fort and Manora MLA Hostel. The projected sea link will serve as a ring road around Mumbai when combined with the existing and new developments such as the Eastern Freeway and the upcoming road link proposed to be extended to Marine Drive, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), Sewri-Worli connector and Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Coastal Road.
