Lucknow–Sultanpur NH gets Rs 193-cr four-lane flyover

The decision to undertake this infrastructure project was prompted by the rapid urbanization along the Shaheed Path, which has resulted in congested routes around Ahimamau crossing. Recognizing the need for a long-term solution, the state government deemed it necessary to invest in civil works that would alleviate the traffic congestion in the area.
While the existing railway overbridge will continue to facilitate traffic movement, a new elevated four-lane flyover has been planned. The construction of the flyover will commence after the Mari Mata temple and end before the Ahimamau-Shaheed Path intersection. Sufficient space will be provided between the existing overbridge and the new flyover to ensure smooth traffic flow. The design and construction of the bridge will be carried out by the UP State Bridge Corporation, as stated by its Managing Director, Rakesh Singh.
Once completed, motorists heading towards the Sultanpur-Varanasi national highway will have the option to use the underpass, which will enable them to cross the Shaheed Path without encountering bottlenecks. Those traveling to Gomtinagar or Sarojinanagar will still have the option to take the usual route in both directions.
