
The detailed project report (DPR) of Kashi Vishwanath Dham (Corridor), which involves an investment of ₹750 crores is ready and construction is set to start shortly. The project will be completed within two years. As of now, the road building agency is completing the formalities, including approval of the report by the state cabinet and floating of tender. The Ahmedabad-based HCP Designing Panning and Management recently submitted the DPR to Vishal Singh, CEO of Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Kashi Vishwanath Special Area Development Board (KVSADB). While the DPR has earmarked ₹460 crores exclusively for the construction work, ₹290 crore has already been spent on purchasing buildings in the project area. The government has up till now sanctioned ₹600 crores. Apart from building the road corridor, the work also included construction of Temple Chowk, Varanasi city gallery, museum, multi-purpose auditorium, hall, devotee facilitation centre, public convenience, salvation home, Godowlia gate, Bhogshala, shelter for priests and sevadars, spiritual book space, among others.
