Trimble Launches Tekla PowerFab for Next-Gen Steel Fabrication

Tekla PowerFab Trimble Connect Tekla EPM
Automation, Real-time Visibility into Data and Collaboration Across Project Teams

New Delhi, March 7, 2019 — Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) introduced today its Tekla® PowerFab, a next-generation software suite for steel fabrication management. Created specifically for steel fabricators, Tekla PowerFab is a step-change in collaboration across project teams throughout the structural steel workflow for unparalleled control and visibility. The new solution expands upon Trimble's Constructible Process, an innovative approach for the digital transformation of architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) workflows.

Tekla PowerFab is a complete and connected steel fabrication software solution that provides relevant and real-time information to all project parties. At the core of Tekla PowerFab is Tekla EPM (formerly FabSuite management information system), which boasts proven success among Trimble customers in North America. By combining Tekla EPM with Tekla Structures and the Trimble Connect™ collaboration platform, Tekla PowerFab automates the fabrication management process. The solution gives project teams visibility into the status of components at every stage of fabrication—from model-based estimating to site delivery—so they can work together seamlessly for more efficient workflows and cost savings.

Tekla PowerFab Production control

“Following the acquisition of FabSuite in 2018, Trimble is now able to further integrate fabrication workflows to give customers improved collaboration and connectivity,” said Jari Heino, general manager of Trimble’s Structures Division. “An industry-first, Tekla PowerFab gives estimators, project managers, production and other project teams real-time visibility into the most relevant data throughout the fabrication process.”

“Now everyone involved in a project knows what's happening at any given time, allowing us to approach projects more proactively,” said long-time Trimble customerRicky Horton, vice president of finance and administration at McCombs Steel. “Tekla PowerFab is a significant leap toward more efficient workflows and improves the way we manage projects.”

Trimble’s Tekla portfolio now includes complete structural steel workflows for estimating, planning, managing, designing, modeling and automating the fabrication processes for maximum constructability.

Availability

Tekla PowerFab is offered as an annual subscription and will be available for steel fabricators in India from March 13, 2019. Other countries where PowerFab will be available include U.S., Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Caribbean Islands, UK and Ireland, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.
