The Border Road Organization has recently launched the construction work on the ₹18,000 crore projects to build road network in areas along the China border in Uttarakhand, Director General, BRO Lt, Gen Harpal Singh said adding that he recently met CM of Uttarakhand to discuss the progress of the project. In the meeting the CM stressed the road project is extremely necessary to enhance the security vigilance in border belt of the state and also ensured the BRO that the state will provide 20-acre land in Haridwar for the project headquarter. The roads which are being built under the project include Baijnath-Tharali-Karnprayag road, Ascot-Dharchula-Malpa road, Kapkot-Munsyari road, Seraghat-Jauljibi road, Mana-Moosapani-Mana Pass road and Joshimath-Malari road. The roads are not only strategically important for the army but will also provide much-needed connectivity to the villages along the Indo-China border in the state.
