    ABL bags Rs.759 cr DVVNL’s power project

    In a major boost to its project portfolio in the power sector, Ashoka Buildcon Ltd (ABL) has emerged as the lowest bidder for project entailing an investment of Rs 759.84 crore. The company had submitted bids to Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. (DVVNL) under the Saubhagya Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana) in Uttar Pradesh (UP). The projects includes Cluster 2 for the electrification work in Etah and Kashiram Nagar (Kasganj) districts at a cost of Rs 320.92 crore and also cluster 5 entailing the electrification work in Kannoj, Farrukhabad, and Etawa districts with project valued at Rs 438.92 crore. It may be recalled that ABL is one of the largest highway developers in the country with interests in EPC works (roads and power distribution), BOT road projects, and manufacturing of ready-mix concrete. It commands nearly four decades experience in the EPC segment and has executed 60 road & bridges and 57 building construction contracts to date and it also owns and operates 17 BOT road projects across seven states, said an official spokesperson.
