In order to ensure hassle-free movement of vehicular traffic in the north eastern region of the country, the Assam government has set aside Rs.1,950 crore for the construction of a mega bridge project. The project will connect Panbazar with north Guwahati and the 6 lanes bridge project is likely to be constructed by GMDA and the feasibility study of the project has already been completed and SMAC India is preparing the DPR for the bridge from Panbazar in south Guwahati to Maj Gaon in the northern fringes of the state capital, said an official spokesperson.
