    AP gets Rs.1000 cr road upgrades

    The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways approved the improvement and reconstruction of road stretches in Andhra Pradesh involving a whopping investment of Rs.1000 crore, said an official spokesperson, claiming that the road rehabilitation projects in Andhra Pradesh included the 47.655 km stretch of SH-57 between Chikkamagaluru and Bilikere has been cleared for upgrading into two lanes at a cost of about Rs.325.86 crore. The scope of work in the project includes the construction of 11 minor bridges and 59 culverts. In addition, the 50.06 km stretch of NH-150A between Huliyar to KB Cross and KB Cross to Nelligere will also be converted into two lanes at a cost of about Rs 242.61 crore where the scope of work includes building of 12 minor bridges and 148 culverts. These apart, a 22.92 km stretch of NH-42 between Rapthadu and Bathalipalli under corridor approach will be upgraded to four lanes at an investment of Rs.244.95 crore while the 39.047 km stretch of NH-326A will be converted into two lanes entailing an investment of Rs.228.32 crore, he added.
