    Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA)
In its bid to decongest road traffic in Ghanta Ghar area in the heart of city, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has decided to build a two-km long elevated road at an investment of Rs. 200 crore. The development authority has asked the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) to prepare the design and the detailed project report as quickly as possible after which it will be sent to the state government for approval. The proposed elevated road will be a shorter version of UP Gate-Rajnagar extension elevated stretch with a length of 10.3-km. The new elevated road will be built on a single pier and its length will extend from Ghanta Ghar to Bhatia, which is in the middle of city, said superintendent engineer, S S Verma, adding that the proposed project will go a long way in reducing traffic congestion in this area, which frequently witnesses traffic jams during peak hours.
