    In a recent statement, General Manager, Power Equipment, Atlas Copco, Nitin Lall said that India is one of the most attractive destinations for investment in the construction equipment sector. Increased impetus on development of the country‘s road, rail, waterways, dams and petroleum among others. In its entirety, all segments of infrastructure are currently in a state of sound growth and this has resulted in higher growth momentum in the construction equipment area with domestic and multi-national companies participating in such projects in a big way. He further added that his company’s focus has largely been on roads as the company has a range of products that are handy and most of them are hand-held tools, including breakers, small blasting equipment, light towers, portable compressors and so on. The company has set foot in India six decades ago by setting up its plant in Pune and currently has two manufacturing facilities in India. The second is a green field plant established about 40 months ago at an investment of Rs.100 crore, which is in close proximity to the old plant. Among others, Atlas Copco Power Technique, an on-site provider of air, power and flow solutions, is quite positive of its growth prospects in the country this year. The power technique business vertical of the company, which deals with products such as portable compressors, pumps, light towers and generators, along with a host of complementary products, has registered 20% growth in business over the last fiscal, he added.
