Adani and IL&FS are among the companies showing keen interest in investing in Metro rail projects in Kanpur, Agra and Meerut entailing a whopping investment of Rs.15,000 crore each, said Principal Secretary, Urban Planning, Mukul Singhal. Both the companies had expressed interest, primarily in Agra and Kanpur metro projects on public-private partnership (PPP) model. In this connection, the Central government is currently negotiating with them. In addition, there are three other companies that are also seriously considering the projects and are doing their due diligence currently. Infact, the government has already held talks with IL&FS and the Adani Group for the upcoming Kanpur and Agra Metro projects, he claimed.
