The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has recently began concretization work of the 22-km internal roads, storm water drains, effluent collection pipelines, footpaths, duct lines for utility services and streetlights, along the Trans-Thane Creek (TTC) corridor in Rabale, Mahape and Turbhe areas. In the mega project, which entails an investment of Rs.231 crore, all the work will be carried out simultaneously and the task of resurfacing all the internal roads has been delayed for several years as the NMMC is about to execute the task. Along with this, the NMMC was going to carry out concretization of arterial roads and connectors linking Thane-Belapur Road and its parallel MIDC road between Uran Phata and Digha. But small scale entrepreneurs favored MIDC over NMMC to take over the makeover plan. As such, MIDC will concretize the 22-km stretch in the project, besides laying drainage lines, footpaths, water pipelines and street lights for which a ground survey was conducted recently.
