Assam launches twin bridge projects

    Assam launches twin bridge projects
In order to provide uninterrupted connectivity to the masses of the state, Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain recently laid the foundation stone of two road-over bridges at Hojai and Lanka in the Nagaon area of Assam. Both the bridges are being constructed by NF railway at a cost of Rs 90 crore and the completion time is about 2 years. Currently, there are 2 level crossings, No. 40 and 41 falling the railway yard at Hojai and to clear this hurdle a new 2-lane ROB is being constructed in the middle of the 2 level crossings connecting Natun Bazaar and Nil Bazaar. Bow string steel girder will be used for main span of 7600 mt and approaches shall be constructed on viaduct made up of composite girder. Likewise in Lanka, the level crossing No 45 is falling in the Railway yard of Lanka whereby A 2-lane and ROB will be constructed on the same alignment connecting Lanka Market and National Highway which will ease the traffic movement. The main span will be of RDSO approved 3600 mt and approaches shall be constructed on viaduct made of composite girder, said an official spokesperson.
