    BRO building new roads in belt bordering China

    The construction of a new roads has recently been fast tracked in the entire Himalayan belt bordering China by the Indian Border Road Organization (BRO) where it is all set to start the building work connecting little town in Vyans Valley to the rest of Uttarakhand in the Pithoragarh district of the state. The BRO is responsible for building lot of the roads snaking through the Himalayan mountain from Ladakh to Walong as it is currently building the rocky road on the Indo-China border in the valley, said official sources, adding that the construction of road to Pithoragarh is set to start very shortly. The road will run 6 km, and will be part of a 75 km pass along rocky terrain. The construction work of a road in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district is likely to be completed in four months. Improving infrastructure in border areas is vital as it greatly bolsters India's strategic position in the region. The road in Uttarakhand is being constructed from Ghatiabagar to the Lipulekh Pass, which is the last Indian post near the China border in Uttarakhand.
