DMRC invites bids for Rs.6,672 cr project

    The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited bids for the design and construction of viaduct and three elevated stations for the Swami Samarth Nagar- JVLR- SEEPZ- Kanjurmarg- Vikhroli (EEH) Metro Corridor. The total projected cost for the entire 14.5 km Metro 6 is Rs.6,672 crore and the cost of work for this package is Rs.339.27 crore and it is expected to be completed in 30 months. The DMRC will be implementing the project on behalf of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) in the city, which has given this work on deposit basis to DMRC for the execution of the Metro 6 corridor once it finalizes the contractor for the work it should be able to begin the construction, said an official spokesperson of MMRDA. The first package of Metro 6 includes IIT- Powai, Kanjurmarg (W) and Vikhroli (EEH) stations. The MMRDA proposes to begin construction of the corridor by March next year. With this, six Metro corridors will be under construction simultaneously, he added.
