In an attempt to make the most out of the emerging realty business avenues in the hill state, the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) in a recent move has decided to build over 1,500 apartments in Kasauli and Kandaghat area of Himachal Pradesh. On this score, the builder will work with private landowners to build apartments on the targeted sites. It has identified 12 acres of land in Kasauli, a two-hour drive from Chandigarh and for Kandaghat it has selected three sites. In Kasauli, the area towards Lawrence School Sanawar is being explored as the area has more ridges and this escalates the cost of developing land, chairman Maninder Singh said, adding that a team of experts visited the proposed sites at Kandaghat and Kasauli. There is a plan to build 500 apartments comprising all types of flat categories, including two and three bedroom, hall and kitchen, and villas in Kasauli and in Kandaghat, 25 acres of land will be developed for building 1,000 apartments and a few bungalows, he claimed.
