    Karnataka secures Rs. 1,656-cr infra infusion
    In a bid to build top class infrastructure across the state capital, the centre and state government have collectively cleared a staggering sum worth Rs.1,656 crore for building matching infrastructure in and around Karnataka. The cities in the state that have been identified for the upcoming infra upgrade included Belagavi, Davangere, Hubballi-Dharwad, Mangaluru, Shivamogga and Tumakuru – the six cities in Karnataka selected under the Smart City project of the union ministry of urban development. Out of this, Mangaluru has received Rs 216 crore including state's share of Rs.105 crore and central share of Rs.111 crore, Minister for Urban Development, Roshan Baig said.
