MHADA floating tenders for realty project

Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority (MHADA)
The Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority (MHADA) is all set to invite tenders to build 50,000 low cost housing units on an 18-acre plot in Goregaon. This is one of the biggest MHADA schemes in recent times as prior to this it had developed a housing complex consisting of 3,000 flats in Versova. The nodal authority will be issuing tenders inviting bids from construction companies to build the houses on the site for various sections including economically weaker section (EWS), Low Income Group (LIG), Middle Income Group (MIG) and High Income Group (HIG). Sixty per cent of these flats will be reserved for EWS, LIG and MIG sections, MHADA Board Chief Officer Subhash Lakhe, said adding that it will take around three to four months to complete the tendering process and that the construction work on these projects is set to start by April next year, he said.
