The state government in Rajasthan has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the NHAI to construct 47-km ring road project connecting two national highways including Jaipur-Ajmer and Jaipur-Agra. NHAI will complete the project in 15 months at an investment of Rs.1,275 crore. Official sources informed that NHAI will maintain the road after completion and will collect toll charges to compensate for its investments. This road will be declared as a national highway for which NHAI will provide Rs.350 crore to Jaipur Development Authority in 10 years and will pay Rs.35 crore to JDA every year. In addition to this, it would also provide 8 percent interest to the authority. The agreement would expedite the Ring Road project, which was recently handed over to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), said official sources.
