MahaMetro speeds up Rs. 11,420-cr project
In order to build the metro project worth Rs. 11,420 cror on fast tracked basis, MahaMetro has recently initiated the process of testing geological features for the metro rail project at the Mutha riverside road, said official sources claiming that the soil type, depth, rock types and other geological aspects are being studied. Once the on-going process completed, the actual construction work on the pillars will start thereafter.

The study includes sampling and testing of different kinds of soil to assess their strength, compressibility and characteristics that would influence the construction of the pillars. It is a part of the Vanaz-Ramwadi metro route. The first phase starts at Vanaz and ends at Civil Court. Around 300 pillars will be constructed for the metro project. The project, which is an equal joint venture between the Centre and Maharashtra government, is being implemented by the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro) and that the project will be commissioned in five years.
