Centre commits Rs.1 lakh cr road projects

    The Centre plans to launch road projects worth Rs.1 lakh crore over the next two years in Rajasthan and resolved to provide a robust highway infrastructure in the state, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the PM has already laid the foundation stone of six projects of Rs.15,000 crore recently. In line with the PM's vision to accord the highest priority to infrastructure, the government stand committed to augmenting the highways infrastructure in the state. The length of National Highways in the state has been doubled to about 14,000 km, from the 7,000 km when the current government took over. The investment will be in addition to the existing and completed projects of about Rs.1 lakh crore. A new expressway will be built connecting the national capital to the pink city in addition to the Delhi-Jaipur highway which will be completed by December as about 90% of the work has been completed.
