Ensuring smooth flow of vehicular traffic in the state capital, the Bihar government has decided to build an outer ring road, which will cross through Kanhauli (near Bihta), Naubatpur, Lakhna, Daniyawan, Fatuha, and Kachchi Dargarh. CM Nitish Kumar said that the state administration has approved alignment for the proposed project. As per the approved alignment, the outer ring road would be constructed on the existing alignment of State Highway-78 (Bihta-Sarmera Road) from Kanhauli to Daniyawan. From Daniyawan, the outer ring road would go to Fatuha and it would cross to Hajipur district via the under construction Kachchi Dargah-Bidupur six-lane road bridge on river Ganga. The project is a part of the special package of Rs.1.25 lakh crore announced for Bihar by PM Narendra Modi. The package includes Rs.1,500 crore for a 65 km ring road. Besides the outer ring road, the meeting also approved the alignment of the proposed additional four-lane bridge parallel to the Mahatma Gandhi Setu on river Ganga, he added.
