K’nataka clears Rs.659 cr road projects

    In its quest to build world-class road network across the state, the state Cabinet in Karnataka has recently cleared the construction of multiple road projects entailing an investment of Rs.659 crore. They included an access road from central Bengaluru to Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) on Tumakuru Road with a length of 29 km costing Rs.161 crore. Apart from this, it also approved Rs.200 crore for further works under the TenderSURE project and that several roads have been identified in Gandhinagar, Majestic and KR Market areas. Roads such as Subedar Chatram Road, Gubbi Thotadappa Road, NH Hanumanthappa Road and Dhanvantri Road have been identified for the TenderSURE project. Administrative approval has also been given to white topping of selected roads at a cost of Rs.292 crore, said an official spokesperson.
