Transport Infra gets Rs.1,000 cr infusion

    Transport Infra
In its quest to build top-class road transport infrastructure across Maharashtra, the Road Transport ministry has offered Rs.1,000 crore to the state to set up world-class bus terminals in as many as 2,000 cities and towns across State in the next few years. Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the facilities would be developed on the BOT model or can be in private-public partnerships where there will be more need for viability gap funding. The minister added that such bus ports should be fully integrated facilities serving every stakeholder to his utter satisfaction. Not just this, if any interested state sends proposal, the ministry is ready to give funds for consultancy study. In future, if the PPP model does not work out, the ministry may consider viability gap funding as well to build such projects in other states, he insisted.
