MoRTH unveils Rs 3,487-cr project

    The transport ministry is all set to launch the third phase of the national highway connecting Mumbai and Goa at an investment of Rs. 3,487 crore. The prestigious project is being executed by Union highways minister Nitin Gadkari and the function to launch the 118-km third and final stretch will be launched very shortly. In regard to this project, the central government has taken Shiv Sena on board as it has openly opposed several development projects like the coastal road of Mumbai and the CM's pet project of Nagpur-Mumbai (Samruddhi Marg) express highway. The latest project is meant to provide quicker and faster world class direct connectivity between Goa and Mumbai and the entire project would be commissioned on fast tracked basis, said official sources.
