The state government in Telangana has targeted Rs. 8,821-cr in the budget for the 2017-18 fiscal to start new projects and complete the ongoing ones, said an official spokesperson, adding that new projects included the construction of secretariat building, integrated collector complexes, legislators' office-cum-residences across assembly constituencies. In addition, they also included doubling of roads providing connectivity between new district headquarters with all the mandals and construction of railway bridges. In a recent decision, a budget of Rs. 400-cr has been set aside to start the work on construction of new integrated collector complexes across districts. Likewise, Rs. 230-cr was proposed for construction of the officers' residential buildings and Rs. 100-cr to be earmarked for the construction of new Secretariat building.
