MP secures Rs. 1,640-cr for road widening

    Road Widening in Madhya Pradesh
    In its unfailing quest to strengthen the entire road network across the state, Madhya Pradesh government has already secured Rs. 1,640-cr for converting the state highways into NHs, said official sources claiming that the state has sent a proposal to the Centre to convert over 2,000 km state roads into national highways. In this connection, the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed officials concerned in a high-level meeting to complete formalities as required by the Central government with regards to converting the existing roads into national highways. As a matter of fact, the inclusion of new national highways will accelerate the pace of development. The proposed roads include 264 kms from Chapda to Nimdi, 376 kms Chhindwara-Khimlasa, 529 kms Sagar to Bargawan, 289 kms Jabalpur-Kalinjar (UP Border), 249 kms Kukshi-Jaora, 205 kms Chabi-Jaisinghnagar, and 195 kms Dabra to Goras road.
