    Odisha launches ring road project

    Odisha ring road project
The work on the much-awaited peripheral ring road on the outskirts of the Silk City is all set to start with the state’s Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently laid the foundation stone for the 15.39 km stretch from Ratanpur to Haladiapadar of the project. The project will be implemented by the works department and will connect the peripheral areas and the National Highways. While the 13 km Raghunathpur-Ratanapur bypass road would be constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the 15.39-km road stretch from Ratanpur to Haladiapadar and 17 km stretch connecting Haladiapadar and Jagannathpur via Karapalli would be taken up by the state PWD. To complete the mega project, around 200 acres of land needs to be acquired, which included 170 acres of private land of 13 villages on the outskirts of the city and 30 acres of government land. The exact cost of the project will be known only after preparation of the detailed project report, which will be prepared after the land is acquired, said official sources.
