Delhi awaits third ring road project

    Delhi Ring Road Project
In an attempt to decongest roads in and around the national capital, the concerned authority has recently given a 'go ahead' to the Delhi Development Authority's (DDA) proposal for building a third ring road with a length of about 60 km. Urban Extension Road-II is expected to reduce traffic on Ring Road and Outer Ring Road, that see heavy jams during most part of the day and the new project will be ready and running by 2020, said official sources elaborating that the semi-circular road will start from National Highway (NH)1 near Narela, pass through NH-10 near Rohini and Dwarka and culminate at NH-8. It has also been reported that DDA has constructed 40% of the road and a portion falling between Kanjhawala and NH-10 remains to be incomplete. Once the proposed road is commissioned, the road users can straightway drive to airport after crossing Alipur instead of going to Dhaula Kuan. Similarly, commuters coming from Rohini will have the option of directly entering airport rather than travelling to Dhaula Kuan first, they added.
